Doesn't smell like anything after it's added to water. But the egg-fart smell is Prime in the bottle.

couldn't figure out what the smell was when I was cleaning the tanks, then I got the bottle near my face. Thought my dad had farted for a minute

A lot of Hobbiests use Prime and yes it smells bad. Stop sniffing it.

Just blame the prime smell on the family dog.

Sometimes I purpously carry the prime bottle around while it's open when I have gas and blame it on the prime. It's also fun when friends come over and you tell them it smells like strawberries.
