Priming an AHEIM Filter pump

I think its supposed to go in the tank below the waterline but I could be wrong as I don't have canister yet.

Ok, now on the bubble bar, does it need to spray water above the water line into the aquarium or does it need to spray directly under the water? I hope you understand what I mean. Right now it is above the water level and spraying about halfway across the tank. Thank you again in advance....

The spray bar can either be above or below the water level. You will probably want it below the water level to keep the noise level down and to keep the water from splashing everywhere. I have mine under the water level and angled a little so that I get water agitation from the water coming out of the spray bar.

Water conditioner and testing

I hope you have used a good water conditioner to remove chlorine before you started the used filter. The filter may have live bacteria in it, depending on if it was wet or dry, and untreated tap water may kill that bacteria.

In any case, get just a few small fish, the more hardy sort, to start with. And be sure to invest in a master test kit, the sort with test tubes and liquid tests. You will need to test often, otherwise you may lose the first fish to cycling problems. If you have the test kit, you will know when to change water to save the fish.

Thank you for your reply. I took the water from the aquarium to Petsmart yesterday and they said it was perfect. I am on a well and they said that is great water for aquariums. I am going tomorrow to get my fish so hopefully they will be alright. Thank you again for all the information...

THANKS AGAIN for all your help, I am up and running!!

Thanks again for everyone's help. I added my fish yesterday and happy to report that they are all good this morning. Hopefully they will stay that way. I started with all the same size fish so they will grow together and they so far are getting along great.

Starting the timer to see how long it takes for the 1st post that states you are

OVERSTOCKED!

Just to let you know, I believe the oscars will grow at a much faster pace then all your other fish, and Oscars aren't the type to take well to tank mates they can swallow, so I'd watch just how big the oscars get in comparison to the other fish you have in your tank! If it can fit in its mouth, take it out.

Thank you for your replies, I have had several oscar tanks in the past and only pick the fish compatable with my oscars. All are getting along fine and existing with one another well. Thanks again......
