i was out on the lake fishing and at the boat ramp i found a lot of shells mostly small i figured they are bably mussels that died i cleaned them up and boiled them i put them in my tank and they look pretty good this is from a fw lake and my tank is fw my question is could they hurt the fish in any way?

They should not, you sterlized them by boiling them.. Should be no differnt than adding a snail shell to your tank.

Be careful picking up mussel shells; it is illegal in some states. If your shells were fairly small (under 2") and somewhat round (rather than elongate) in shape, they were likely Asian clams, which are fine to pick up.
