my first problem is that I can not remember how to post a new post/thread. My only posts have been about my jellybean fry- which are doing great. There is a weird worm in the tank with my jack dempsys and I dont know how it got there or how to get rid of it. None of my other tanks have it- the tank was up and running for over a week before they were put in it and all supplies in there are original to that tank. The 4 jacks came from 2 different tanks in my house and neither of those have worms. PLEASE HELP. asap. and thank you.

if you have a lot of these little white worms it is due to over feeding your tank. Feed only once per day. All the food should be eated within 2 minutes. During your water changes, be sure to vacuum out the gravel to remove waste and any un-eaten food

a small white THIN line 1/4 to 1/2 in in length that swims in a ribbon like motion in the water. (I mean thin like the forward slash in these fractions). The jacks dont appear to be affected but I am sure it is not a good thing

it could be a tape worm, although they are usually internal parasites.
whatever it is if you can net it, do so and dispose of it. it could be a planerian worm, they are harmless, caused by over feeding, cut back on the feeding and they/it might disappear

Tapeworms are ALWAYS internal parasites; they cannot live outside a host. It's a planarian.
