Project: Canopy/Bright Light.

ALright. If you read my topic in the plant section you know what this is about.

Me and my dad are in the process of getting a canopy built for my tank.

There are 2 reasons for this build.
1: Looks
2: To get birghter lights for plants.


Day 1: Went out and bought 1 housing and i set of lights.

LOL i just relized i took a pic of the spanish side! opps!

(2x40)/55=1.45wpg so far.

I set it on top the tank to get a feel of how much light that will give me.

It was during the day when i took this picture so its not as good as it should be.

If you ever decide to use more light, you could overdrive those ones which would give you about 1.7 times more light. I did one of the same units you have and I can barely look at it because it is so bright. Overdriving is pretty easy if you understand a little about electricity (which your father seems to know according to your post in plants).

i had better luck with T8 bulbs.

just a little warning odno must have electronic ballasts. Magnetic ones do not work! just in case you do think about overdriving them.
