Project Great Wall o' Tanks

Alright finally got pics.

The brackish tank and the turtle tank below it. Finally got the empty 150 up above that. Also, my 10gal sw QT tank on the end there.

So, the next step is going to be moving the fish in the 150 in the middle of the room, into the 150 in the wall. Then, the empty one can move into its new home, the last remaining space. You can sort of see the side of the 40gal tank that will serve as the sump, right to the right of the 30gal. I'm hoping its big enough. I think I'll be able to keep the water level relatively low with an auto topoff system so I don't have to worry about the pumps running dry. I have all the plumbing for the system, so thats the next thing to tackle.

WOW, again, coming along great! Great progress youre making and looking good! Thanks for the pics! When you get it all setup...you might think of running a black curtain of some material across the back of everything.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to the rest of the project!

Well all the tanks will have black or navy blue cloth backdrops. Once all the tanks are in place, I'm going to sheetrock over the front and leave windows for the tank faces, so you won't be able to see anything but the front of the tanks, all the stuff behind will be hidden.

Yaha yeah me neither. The room is this stupid purple sponge-painted color, I can't wait to repaint it. The whole room will be painted over in something like a like blue or off white, and the tank wall will be painted a navy or midnight blue. The tanks should really pop after its done, I can't wait.

did you offset your tanks a half inch out or whatever the thickness of the sheetrock? or are they going to be sunk and sheetrocked over the trimface.

i start soon

No, there will be a lip in front of the tanks, so they will be 1/2 back from the front face of the sheetrock. What I'm planning on doing is cutting the windows out of the sheetrock, and getting some square pine stock to basically build a frame that fits snugly inside the window, and smoothing the joint with patching plaster. That way I can protect the edge of the sheetrock and have a nice clean corner on the window.
