A few weeks after their arrival:

They have had a rough start if some of you will remember. Their original tank was inadvertantly drained almost empty by yours truely. :o

The took up residency with my O. Cocama. Now the fun and hard part begins. Setting up two tanks. One small holding tank for mom to be moved to in a couple of weeks. The second and most important one is the brackish tank. This will be the critical one.

Really in full swing now. Found another lovely lady carrying. Gotta get these rearing tanks up and ready.

One things for sure, I won't be suffering from the lack of zoes when they are ready. Here' the latest find:

This is now three berried females. It's interesting as the first one looks to only have half the amount of eggs as the last two.

Lets get some parms:
pH: 7.4
Temp: 77
NO3: 10
GH: 6
KH: 4
TDS: 139

Picked up a small repti habitat. Looked like it was a gallon in size but turned out to be a bit short. Would really like to have 1 gallon rearing tanks for the testing. Guess I'll have to use a couple of the repti ones. Will begin getting that set up shortly.

the largest dip and pours are about a gallon and could be hung in your display tank (assuming its big enough) to cut down on the need for heaters and to make transfer closer/easier.

May have to look into those. I doubt PetSmart carries them. Can't hang em in the breeding tank though due to the salinity.

Microalgae and other equipment now on order. Figured I'd have a little more time to work with though. ;)

Will start playing with mixing the salt water to get the salinities I want to start working with.
