I have a small 6in Oscar was thumb size 6 months ago this what I'm feeding him

Daily
shimp pellets
Cichlid. pellets one large FD krill

Monthly
3to4 guppies
3 large night crawlers

Anything I should add. His color is good he is active spends his day pushing rocks pulling plant roots and putting the dead plants on one end of the tank

if you have a local place that sells live blackworms... oscars love them

but other than that-- looks great!

glad to see an oscar in an appropriate sized tank for once

Nawww no black worms
Just the night crawlers I raise for him.right now he gets the sm to med size ones the large are longer then he is

Sound like your doing about the same I do besides the feeders. I feed mine cichlid sticks and floating pellets twice daily, Rotate frozen blood worms and brine shrimp about three times a week. Mine have grown since september from "2" each...now one of them is "9" and the other is "11"

Just did my spring fish chow order.I use bloodworms for my guppies will add some of them to the mix. Will do some reading on the sticks as well

Well in the wild a large percentage of their diet is made up of insects. I feed my oscar about a dozen crickets once a week. He goes nuts for them.

I also feed mine 2 types of Hikari Cichild pellets, Massivore pellets, shrimp pellets, FD shrimp, thawed shrimp, earthworms, thawed peas, algae waffers and the occasional baby convict cichlid.

dont feed it feeders just some good hikari pellets and frozen bloodworms n it should grow fast

The only live food should be the food you personally raise. Like you, I try to vary the diet but not to an extreme. I use the Hikari Cichlid Gold for the main food and then offer treats from time to time. Sometimes I feed 1/2 of a wiener(hotdog) as a treat as well.

I agree hearing about the appropriate sized tank.

The feeders are from my guppie tanks. I would not feed LFS feeders. Have read about hikair brands lot's of good things being said about them
Crickets would be a nice add on to give him more of a mix
