Crayfish are great...if you can get them. Crickets and most worms are good too.

my friend threw roaches for his oscar fish and basically whatever bug he finds. i don't know if it's good for the fish, but it seems happy.

Seems like you're doin a fine job. My menu is a bit more extensive but then being anal & battling OCD is a 'B' !!

Dainichi is my choice pellet http://www.dainichi.com/cichlid_food_ultima.html . Supplements & treats are live earthworms, crickets & crayfish, freezedried krill, tubifex & bloodworms, frozen silversides & shrimp, fresh blanched peas & zuccini, spirulina & algae tabs soaked in VitaChem. Yes I spoil them but so far it's been worth it!! "T"
