Can I please have your opinion for the proper wattage for a 10g tank to....

grow moderate plants kinda slowly, maybe 1 2L DIY co2, and maybe miniscul ferts.

2.2wpg is 22w over the tank.

if it affects your 2 cents. the hood has 2 spots for screw in bulbs. i have since ditched the 15w ea glass ones and have 2 10w lights of america full spectrum CF. they look really nice on a white substrate and red platys, blue lobster, green comboda, horntwort, wisteria thus far (2 days).

but dont let that sway your suggestion. i guess 'leave it' will be a ok answer.

what do you think the proper WPG for a 10g is? Or what do you run over your 10g?

I thankyou for your time.

I'd leave it. CF's are a lot brighter than normal lights. Look on the packaging for the CF's they should give a comparision of what 10 watts are compared to normal light output. I think it might be closer to 4 wpg than 2 wpg.

2.2 range is perfect for what you are asking about (growing moderate plants kinda slowly) And if you see the plants growing fast you can always decrease the hrs of light/co2 or amount of ferts used. I have 2.8wpg running on my 10g with 3.5L diy CO2 + flourish once a week and the plants are growing great. Some faster than others so a trim every 2 weeks or so is necessary

I think your really only supposed to use the actual output not the "compared to". I thankyou

I have 2x15w CF over my 10gal with DIY CO2 and I can grow most med-high light plants.

i went to walmart and got 2 CF that were 20w each. so im at roughly 4wpg.

my 5g has one 26w CF and its kinda at my limit with algae and light output and then now ferts and DIY co2 which i wanted to do all this.

but i fig a lil lower (wpg) than my 5g grow tank and i should be ok i think.

As we've discussed other places, you can't really look at this in the classic "watts per gallon" view. However, I think the 2 20w CFL's over the 10g is going to be awesome. Give it some co2, some ferts, and watch it explode.
