After a nightmare week of dealing with a sea clone, I returned it and put my fluval back on my tank. Based on need and recommendations, I have narrowed down the search to a Aqua C Remora, or a CPR Backpack. One of the big issues I had with the sea clone was the amount of bubbles it spewed into the tank. Does anyone have any experience with one or both of these and could tell me your experience with them? In particular, could you tell me if there were a lot of bubbles going back into the tank? I think CPR sells a bubble trap to help, but I haven't seen one for the Remora.

I have the CPR BakPak 2R+ and with the MJ1200 mod with fishing line sown thru the impeller iget more flow better bubbles and none come out the outlet except for the waterfall effect inside the pipe but they are big bubbles and go strait to the top and burst.... you really dont have to do the mods(i love to tinker and make things better) it does a hellious job without it.....i also have friends with the Remora and it produces very very well too... only thing better then CPR & Aqua C is the Deltek and it will run you i think somewhere in the 3 hundred range.... if i had money to blow i would deff. have one.. But i am very happy with my CPR BakPak 2R+

Forgot to mention another thing with the CPR. The MOD works so well that they now include a P/H with the mod already done

I use an AquaC Remora (with the Maxi-Jet) and like it. I've not had any problems with microbubbles and it skims reasonably well. The Remora also has a box attachment that can be added to help reduce microbubbles and encourage more surface skimming. Even without one, I've not had any issues, but can see how it might improve overall performance.

If you're looking to pick one up used, there's one currently for sale here in the Marketplace.
