I've never used one but it is one of the most talked about skimmers out there. Most all of the talk is negative. I'd save that $100 and put it towards one with a better rate of satisfication.
That is more a type rather than a brand. An in sump skimmer can be a great skimmer..just consider that some will need to have the water level in a fairly narrow range to be most effective.
I would run an in sump skimmer as they are much better than HOB IMO. I would look into a Euro Reef not sure the size, ASM G-1X or G-2 or an Octopus 150.
