Can Pseudotropheus acei be kept in a planted tank? Can they be kept with other fish?

The dig and tend to eat plants. My mbuna shredded my anubias, java fern, and vals. They left the water lettuce alone though. It's a matter of trial and error.
Acei are not community fish and while they are more mild than most mbuna, they are still mbuna and can be aggressive. It really depends one what type of fish you want to keep with them.

Not sure yet, still looking around for the future tank and the acei caught my eye along with the Bumblebee Cichlid (Ps. crabro).

Alright, what about the following - are they plant/other fish friendly?

Labidochromis caeruleus
Pseudotropheus lombardoi
Thorichthys meeki

The first 2 are mbuna so no, not plant friendly and usually don't play well with others (especially the lombardoi). The last one I know nothing about but I believe firemouths do ok in planted tanks. Most cichlids dig so I don't know if they would be an exception or not.

I just know mbuna/ some tanganyikans so I can't help much on the south/central american cichlids.

Hmm... I think I may have to reconsider the decision of making a planted tank... there aren't really many types of cichlids for planted tanks.

I made a thread on this before on what cichlids to keep in a planted tank, and people told me I can only have some dwarf cichlids, apistos, rams, and kribensis. Yesterday I went to my LFS and saw those few species to be eye catching and wanted to know if I can keep those.
