Haven't posted in a while due to some major work commitments. During all this, one of the things that brought me great joy, besides my wife and kids, was my tank. So tonight it is with great sadness to report that I lost my favorite fish of the bunch, my pseudo. elongotus, aka Blue Bully (my daughter's name for him).
I had just fed the tank about two hours ago and tested the water - 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, approx. 15 nitrates, 8.2 ph. After putting my daughter to bed, I began doing my regular Sunday water change. While doing so, I found him belly up at the bottom of the tank, his mouth frozen open. I immediately got him out to see if there was something stuck in his mouth, but did not see anything. Besides, it was too late.
All of the other fish appear o.k. and I guess in the grand scheme of things, I did need to thin out a fish or two from my tank eventually. It just sucks that it had to be him.
