Red Zebra is in my 20g tank. The fish still appears like it is holding something in its mouth but i can never see anything. It will chase for food but will not open mouth to eat. Sometimes i see it's mouth underneath move like underneath a lizard mouth. Not the same of course. Sorry for the similar posts, but if it is holding eggs or fry, i'm new to it. Heres more pics.

I have noticed this for almost a week. But it could have been holding longer. I did'nt think that a cichlid only 2'' long at most could reproduce.

They can.

I've had mbuna's which were born in my tanks end up producing fry before they were large enough to be moved into the main tank. They can breed as early as 12 months.
