puffer confusion

Brackish fish can tolerate FW for some time, but in the long run, health problems will arise. You should NOT attempt to convert freshwater fish to brackish--gouramies are not brackish, and while they too can tolerate brackish for a while, in the long run you are killing the fish.

'Freshwater salt' in no way mimics brackish or salt water.

right, you can't "convert" the gourami, but you can convert the tank, if the gourami goes elsewhere.
In the Brackish water forum there is a sticky that tells all about how to make a tank brackish. it is the FAQ sticky i think. It doesnt sound all that hard.

Of course I did mean converting the tank, not the fish. I must have worded that a bit poorly. It seems I was wrong about the Puffer and the true agressor of my tank has turned out to be the Gourami. He is a Gold Gourami and I found out that they are terribly territorial. I thought all Gouramis were pushovers, live and learn. Thanks for all the advice
