Puffer/Feeding Q's

Just thought i'd throw my voice in!

My Amazon Puffer hid when I first got him but within a few hours was virtually eating out of my hand and now follows me around my room (from his tank albeit!!)

I think as with all puffers you've basically got a mini personality to get to understand some are personable and friendly others are not but as with all creatures they'll eat when their hungry and feel happy enough!!

I would but but my water is too soft, it kilick.

Just an update everyone, it's eating now, it gets a few mysis shrimp/bloodworms and eats flakes. Tetras are out this weekend hopefully.

I Dont think you understood...The MTS is for him to EAT and so is the coral, he chomps on it. If you dont get something to chomp on his front teeth with grow long and eventually he wont be able to EAT anything. However unless you take him out of the tank and use some fingernail clippers and do it yourself.

MTS are way too hard & will chip/break puffer's teeth. Pond snails will be better.

Mine acts like it's on crack. It swims back and forth and trys to school with black skirt tetras.

I don't mind doing that, I've had to do it for my guinea pig a few times.
I've read that MTS are too hard for puffers... Just an FYI.

I'm so dang jealous of you two and your puffers *pouts*
I've had a tank set up for a good while waiting for puffers and I can never find them.
