A figure 8 puffer can live up to 18 years in good conditions. I'd say average of maybe 10 years? Depends on the fish and it's environment.
I think that the average is likely over ten years, with the exception of the dwarf puffers, but my view may be distorted by the species which I have kept long-term.
Dwarves are one species, when all the other FW puffs seem to be ten or significantly more, the average is still well over ten.
oh, me and my little 7 year old sister and i just got i think it's called a green puffer, i'm not sure.
