Puffers "need" brackish?

Blah blah... They were most likely GSP's that is what is regularly carried by Wally World... Every shippment the get they have GSP's around here .... They were probably 4.99 :)

Yes Brackish water.. and ten gallon would work for not very long .... If you care for this sp. correctly you will have a 4-6" puffer on your hands full grown.. And they are best kept in Sp. tank.. Plus in my experience anything that resembles the color of their favorite food of you varied diet you feed them :) Them will kill and eat :)

Plus they can be raised for a while in fresh though it is best just to start out with Brackish as you will have to change to it anyway to gain full longevity :) personal opinion of course :)

This look similar :)

Hi--
My LSP is doing fine in a 10 gallon, BW, with a couple of other fish. However, he is only about 1.5" at this time. Lots of water and filter changes to make sure he stays healthy-- since they do not have scales, they are more sensitive to medications. Be sure to feed it the right food, or his beak will overgrow and he'll be unable to eat. Definitely will need to increase the size of the tank as he grows, but is thriving right now. And WalMart knows nothing about fish. 'Nuff said.
