Please help again. I think my fish is sick. I don't know if he is bloated or constipated, or something else.

I had another Dwarf Gourami before. He died about a month ago. This one was showing no signs at the time. The other was bloated too, and appeared to have a wound/ulcer on the one side.

I apologize for the shotty quality of the final picture, I was just trying to show he is puffy on both side.

Please let me know what I should do. I have melafix and primafix on hand, and peas too.

WOW! From the last photo it looks like bloat/dropsy, for which there is no sure fire treatment.

What are your water parameter?

ammonia
nitrite
nitrate

ammonia = .00 to .25 ppm
pH = 7.2
nitrite = .00 to .05

I have a Red Sea Fresh Lab test kit (that tests ammonia, pH, and nitrites). It doesn't test nitrates.

Temperature is around 77 degrees F.

Last water change was two weeks ago, half the tank (30 gallon tank). Water changes are regularly every two weeks (with gravel vacuuming).

Filter cartridges (Charcoal blue filter media and charcoal chips) were changes 3 weeks ago.

It has a Penguin BIO-Wheel 330 (For aquariums up to 70 gallons) on the tank.

The inhabitants are 1 neon blue dwarf gourami (the fish in question), 3 gold dust mollies, 4 neon tetras, 5 black skirt tetras, 3 white high-fin tetras, 1 common pleco, and 2 schwartzi corys. No fish aside from the dwarf gourami appear affected.

dwarf update

the dwarf gourami wouldn't eat peas. and i believe his scales are starting to fall off (individually).

is there anything i can do to help him? i don't want him to be in pain.
