just kind of curious about my pumping xenia. I have 3 stalks and one of them is always laying over on its side but at night it stands straight up. Can anyone explain why this stalk does this?

sounds like it's not happy, either with conditions, a neighbor, or current. What lights do you have? Anything nearby that might be stinging it? Is it pulsing?

well it is kind of next to a flowerpot coral but they arent close enough to touch. My water is in perfect condition. Current is fine the other xenia are fine and they are in the same current. The lighting is an orbit extreme 48" light. Here is a website with the same light i have. http://store.seacorals.net/cuusaorproqu.html

Hmm, I'd say you have a little bio-chemical war fare going on in your tank. When corals are iritate by another critter, coral, softy, fish etc. they release chemicals into the water column to drive off or kill the other beasty . In the ocean that's usally not an issue due to amount of water in your tank well.... I'd increase my water changes and run some activated carbon in your sump. I'd also probably take some water to a reefer friend or to the local fish store for a second opinion on the test kit.
