Purchasing a CO2 system - please help.

Never tried it but looks good...assuming it fits a standard CO2 bottle and not those mini bottles for paintball guns...or are they the same fitting? Sorry, not a big paintball player.

Has anyone tried this system? Other than the canister, is this set complete?

The one you linked will only fit on paintball bottles not standard co2 bottle fyi. Advantage of the paintball bottle is it's smaller, cheaper, wont fly across the room when flipped, the disadvantage obviously is it contains less co2 than a standard 5 gallon co2 canister. Both can be refilled easily at any welding shop.

So really it just depends on your space and co2 bubble/sec requirement.

edit: yes the redsea co2 pro system is a complete set, just need co2 bottle.

You may also want to have a look at the CARBO PLUS

Thanks to you both for allowing me to 'up' my post count:)

But, would really like to know why you both feel the way you do.

because it's junk.

1) You get like a max of 10-15 ppm co2 concentration which is even lower than DIY sugar yeast.

2) Cost a ton, almost the same as a complete pressurized co2 sys

3) Money drain, each replacement cartridge cost like $30 and you need to do it every month or 2.

4) worst of all, it lowers your kh/hardness which creates unnecessary risk for your tank!

There's no other way to put it, it's simply very expensive crap. If you can afford the carbo plus, get the pressurized co2 sys instead. Otherwise stick with DIY.

gaga: I agree with all but number 4....
<the magic of ADA Aquasoil is its capabilities to soften water to a KH of almost zero> Plants love it and fish are happy if you don't OD them with CO2.

Shoe: It is expensive crap that doesn't work. Look at the links I took the time to post for you. I know people that have tried everything, and this is included. You would do better making your own DIY yeast system before doing this.
