purple anemone-- WOW!

Crap, that looks like a ritteri, as stated. Can you get a picture of your actual anemone up? If you have a pic, just PM me your email addy and I'll post it for you. I wouldn't even worry about it's potential future size right now, IF that's what you have, it's not going to live and could do it's share of damage in the meantime. But you may have posted a different specimen than what is in your tank. I can't (necessarily) identify it, but it looks like someone here probably could.
Good luck, and I'll be glad to host the picture...

I hear these buggers can be monsters, not only in size but a PITA to work around

That is beautiful. I hope you can keep it alive. I just bought one for my clownfish yesterday and I hope I can keep it alive for his sake, he loves it. I posted a picture a few minutes ago. The post is "Happy clown".

jeeze that does look nice! how big is your tank, that clown doesnt look too small..!!

Anyway guys back to my anemone.. It doesnt look anything like ghost knife's pic, The base is that same bright purple with brownish green tenticles. tip of the tentacles are bright green. I'll try to post a pic.
Thanks for the replies guys.
