 What Im thinking is heavy metals leeched out into the water.
I removed the four pieces now with a fishless tank:cry: what can i use to make sure when adding more fish i wont see them die right away.

How long has this tank been set up?

Where did you get the lava rock from & how did you prepare it for the tank?

I had lava rocks in my canister filter for a long time as a biofilter and had no deaths.

Unless you put in contaminated lava rock I can't see this as a cause.
