What are you going to do with the tank in the winter? Are you planning on emptying it out and putting it in storage? If so, what would you do with the plants? I would hope that you wouldn't simply dump them into the nearest lake, river or stream.

It WAS in the form of a question... *lol* I do know for sure that 95 isn't boiling, because I'd be a limp noodle.
keep the lid off and use a few air stones this will circulate the water to bubble up and cool down at the same time..
my golds are in the full sun in a 75 g stock tank for the horses and i put a large sponge filter with air to run it and it keeps down the water temps and keep the water full of
oxygen.. for the temps can't hold enough oxygen.. floating plants work good. like anarachis, adds cover absorbs heat light and gives off oxygen and helps with the pollutants in water..

I agree with Corvina. When we bought our house I got my brothers ancient 25gal and stocked with a bunch of goldfish from our apartment and some from the LFS. The tank stayed outside for three years under a patio in total shade - greenwater, corner filter and all.
We live inland in So. Cal so the temps hit up to 110+ in summer and below freezing a few days in the winter. I didnt lose any fish and thier colors were very vibrant.
I had to bring them inside becase all of that temprature fluxuations took it's toll on the tank and it began to leak.
I had those fish for a total of ten years.

When I tried an outdoor aquarim, I used a large Styrofoam container, which was very effective against temp.
