I am currently building a new house. I was thinking that maybe it would be possible to route all my equipment into the basement under the tank stand routed through the floor. I already had the builder put a water supply to where i believe the tank will go. If i can put everything downstairs in the basement is there any setup that will be best. I am currently only using a 55 gal. tank with canister filter. I want to upgrade the tank to a 100 or 125 pif possible but wife doesnt want any noise coming from the tank if its in the living room where everyone will be. Thanks in advance.

Hi there no expriance of this but what your talking about is a sump basically so i dont see why not but you would need the tank drilled and a pump with enough head to get the water back up,

I think someone else on here has done this before... Sounds like a good idea if your haveing a house built!

high head = $$$$

That will be an expensive pump!

My Ehiem canisters are silent. Dead silent. With a 125 you might want 2 for better circulation patterns.
