Well I basically took the pvc and used silicone to glue on gravel for a more natural look than just plain white. The fishies already love it. What does everyone think?

Looks much nicer than regular old pvc. :)

Had the same Idea but abandoned the project after cutting all the pipe because I thought it would look out of place. But now that I see your I think it looks way better then I imagined it would and I may return to completing it .

What size PVC did you use and how did you apply the silicone and gravel?

Looks like 4 or 5" and you can put the gravel on my coating the PVC in silicon or spray gluing it and rolling it in gravel.

Thanks! I used 4 inch PVC Pipe, I just smeared a little section at a time with the Aquarium safe silicone and put the gravel in one of those throw away aluminum baking pans and kept rolling it until it was covered. I left the silicone a little thick so the gravel could adhere real good . it took about 3 1/2 days to dry , its cold here (afterall I am TheIceQueen);)

Thanks I was trying to use 3 inch and I could tell it was too small after half is buried in the sand. Im going to try again using 4 or 5" black PVC which is actually not PVC but I forgot what they call it Ploy-something-pipe used in sewage applications but black will hide my mistakes better.

I want to make some big one for Blood Parrots and also my A. Cichlid tank as they continue to grow Im going to need more and better hiding pleaces that stacked rocks just cant provide.

Thanks

Post some pics after you make it. I would love to see it. I never saw the black pipe, definately would hide mistakes better.
