I have a great number (hundreds) of tiny little snails on the glass and coral bottom that resemble nassarius snails in the shape of their shells. I am assuming these could be from my 5 highly reproductive nassarius snails that lay hundreds of eggs every couple of weeks. Can a 90 gallon possibly benefit from so many snails... can't imagine it.
So, my questions are these...
First, are these what are known as pyramillid snails? Are these that beneficial that I should just let nature take it's course? If I do need to pare it down some, how? Who eats them besides the six-line wrasse? And... is the six-line a peaceful fellow or does it
"harass peaceful fish and shred fins and remove scales while harassing smaller fish with it's large canine teeth".<--quote from marinedepotlive.
Yeah, I know, a whole bunch of questions but who else am i gonna ask besides the gurus of AC.
