Python annoyances...

i vote spend the time and few dollars on an adapter pythons make things so much easier especially if u have or are going to get a larger tank like a 55 or bigger even if u have a bunch of smaller tanks. It probably saves me about 30 minutes at least on my 4 tanks. Mind you it will be pretty useless on my 518

My problem is really the bathroom sink, which doesn't have any sort of threading to it. It's just a friction seal to hold the mesh screen in place, and I'm definatly not spending $100+ to replace the faucet. Maybe when I have some spare time, I'll try to hack something together with a larger hose that I could clamp over the end of the faucet.

Checked the brand when I returned it, and it was a Marina Water changer.

Do these python style units require high water pressure? My house has old pipes and the pressure is kept fairly low.

Thats your problem it isnt a PYTHON. If its not greens its not mean! They should use that lol. But thats the prob. Pythons are great. cept for your bathroom sink.

And on the leaking? mine slowly drips- but where are you guys talking? mine does it at the adapter in the sink when im filling? whats the towel for?

I agree, python all the way. when i have all my tanks running, i would never get done with a bucket. Were talking over 500g water, in many different tanks.

My bathroom sink requires an inward adapter, but I actually just modified one of those tub things that fits over the nozzle for the tub. works great, and I have no issues with water pressure.

Mine leaks at the gravel vacuum tube end where the off/on valve is.....so when I have the Python stuck in my tank to fill it water will slowly drip out of the valve onto the floor...I have tile and wood floors where my tanks are so I place a towel down on the floors to catch any water that drips out.

I don't even bother attaching it to the faucet to drain water. The water pressure in my house is so low the there is no suction. I just toss the end out a window or into the shower depending on the location of the tank. I have 2 different adapters for different faucets in my house. I couldn't survive without it.
For leaky ones I recommend checking the washers on either end of the valve and unscrewing all the tubes and trimming them for a tighter fit. Mine is 6-7 years old and I had to change some washers last year because of leaks.

i have like no psi from my pipes and it works fine.

I also drain mine out the door....much more suction than hooking it to the faucet...Only time it is on a faucet is when I fill my tanks up.
