Python/Gravel vac question

A little risky but it works....

Stick the vac part in the water. Put the other end in your mouth and suck until you notice the water moving along the tube on its own. Then place the end into your bucket.

It's obviously risky because if you are not careful enough you can end up with a mouthful of dirty tank water. The first time I tried this, I almost threw up from inhaling a bunch of salt water. :yuck:
At the risk of sounding immature....this just doesn't sounds right.....:footinmouth:

Well thank you all for the help. the suck method did work. i guess i can live with it for my 10's but when i get my 90 up and running i will get a python.

Here's a waaaaaaay easier way to starta siphon without getting a mouthfull of tank water!

Also LOL @ the "your not a real fish keeper till you get a mouthful of tank water from trying to start your siphon!!!!" So true, So true.

When I bought my gravel vac I saw a hand pump to start the siphoning process and though "who in the world would spend $12 on this? Now I want one.:werd:
