I have seen people on this site get all upset over the loss or sickness of what amounts to a feeder fish. I watch dozens of well wishers reply in hopes of consoling or helping these people (or maybe they were just adding to there post count). I am not judging any of these people I am sure they love their pet. I am also sure everyone would jump all over me if I said “Just go buy another dozen guppies, have Shamrock shake and get over it!” I care for the well being of my dog more than some snake and if killing the snake would make me feel a little better so what ? There is little anyone can do about it. Also consider that I would want to see my pet buried not digested. I do not hate snakes, I have never killed a snake and most likely I will never be put in this situation. However, I do put a value on different animal’s lives; I think most of us do. For example it is OK to eat a steer but not a cat, much like it is OK to drink a Shamrock shake but never Zima.
