Python No Spill Clean 'N Fill--Improvisation(diy) at its best.

my water is straight well water, there is no need to use prime. Its perfectly fine, so i don't need to worry about it

I've never tried to dry my python out. it just kinda dries up, i haven't noticed any mold or anything of the like, so i haven't worried about it. I guess it could be an issue, but i haven't encountered it.

I also use well water but use Prime on some water fills...like after a deep gravel cleaning.

No, dose the tank with enough prime to treat its entire volume then add in the new water.

So... this will take care of the chlorine quickly enough that it'll have no effect on the fish or the BB ? (obviously so, or you would have quit doing it that way long ago :) )

Of course, then I'd have to use a different water source, as my hose water needs to be heated before it goes in the tank!

I just got done with a water change with my python hose. It's only about the third time I've used it, and I really like it. I'm holding a competition with myself to see how fast I can do water changes. I change 18 gallons on my 37 in 45 minutes. That includes clean up and water testing. My goal is to get that down to 30 mins so my wife can't accuse me of spending more time with my fish than my family! I share that concern.

Today when using the python, suction went to nothing and I was quite perplexed. I turned it off and disconnected everything and found a wad of aquarium junk stuck in the unit near the faucet. Cleaned it out and it worked fine. Word to the wise: remember that junk is there when you go from suck to blow, otherwise all that junk you just cleaned out shoots right back into your tank.

Good luck out there.
