ok so i recently picked up a python, with all the reviews ive been reading it sounds like a luxury compared to the bucket water changes i do. But I have a question. when i pump the water into the tank from my facuet. Do i put the declorination stuff into the tank itself?
Yes. I use prime and dose for the entire tank just to be safe. If you are using something else, you may just want to dose for the amount you are adding. Also make sure the water coming out of the tap is the same temperature as the water in your tank.
Yes, I drain the tank and when i start filling it up I add all the chemicals at once. I use Stress Coat & Aquarium Salt. Also, I run water thru it will holding a thermometer under and adjust the water to match the exact temp of the aquarium.
You will need to dose the amount of dechloriinator for the entire tank (recomend prime) when using the python to feel each time no matter haow much water you change...
To sum it up in simple terms. If you have a 30 g tank and are changeing 10 g's of water, when you add the dechlor to your tank it will be diluted by the remaining 20 g's of water in your tank before it has a chance to dechlor the 10 g's you are going to put back..
About matching the exact temp, it is OK to deviate + or - 5 degrees. I put my finger in the tank then put my finger under the running water til the water feels about the same temp..as OP said, can also use a thermometer. There is no need to add aquarium salt unless you are treating a disease.

i also have question... the python isnt comptaible with the sink that is closer to my aquarium. (dosent have a screw thing on the faucet) Although it can reach my other sink... it would be easier for me to use the closer one.. Is there some sort of adapter?
