Will zebra loaches eat cherry shrimp? I know they have small mouths but still...
Do they escape tanks a lot? My aquarium hood has a gap in the back where the filter and airline goes in. Am I supposed to cover it tape or something?

1. Yes, basically all Botia loaches are able to eat dwarf shrimp.

2. Loaches are know to be jumpers, as long as that hole isn't bigger than 2-3 cm, I wouldn' worry about it.

That's good because there's PLENTY of hiding places. I never see my banjo cats or the one zebra loach I have (or had... can't find him) unless I take all the plants and wood and caves and rocks out for cleaning. Sometimes even after all that I still couldn't find my botia but he showed up a few days later. Now I can't find him again... And I moved everybody else over to a different tank so I have no idea what happened... I hope I don't have a crispy fish some where in my room.

But what do I do with the shrimp now? I ordered a bunch and they should be arriving about the same time as the loaches... I don't want to have to keep yet another tank around just for them...

Either they get another tank or you feed them to the loaches. That's pretty much what you can do.:22_yikes:

*cough*Shrimp-only tank.*cough*
Boooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnngggggggggggg. And my room is a mess. There's so much crap I have to step over stuff. And I still have to set up my birds' other large cage.

Maybe I'll rehome the loaches... Or maybe I'll make a shrimp and something that can live with them tank. Maybe home them with a Betta Macrostoma.

Bettas don't think twice before chomping on inverts.
