Qs-tip #8 Cleaning the Python

OMG! WTH do you use your python on that is got like that?

Regular use and being put away wet in a cool dark basement. If you can't see the inside of the hose that you use for water changes I bet it'll look like this in a year or so. I was thinking of making an attachment that I could hook up to a small air pump to run dry air into the hose after each use to help dry it out. This just might keep the mildew from forming.

Thanks for the tip! I feel silly now for throwing away my old water vac when it got mildewed....

I'm sorry I didn't get this one out sooner for you. You just validated this thread for me. Thanks.

If you have a regular air compressor that would do the trick in a real hurry. An air pump would have to be fairly large before it could do that in a reasonable amount of time.

Ok so ill tell yall what a Redneck i was.. I put a new plastic shotgun Bore brush on the end of a tent pole and pushed it through the whole hose..I put 3 sections on my hose to be able to do this..GIT R DUN !

Here is my current Python that is about 4 years old. Never cleaned it once. I wouldn't drink your tap water.

I don't AND I don't think the mildew is in my chlorinated tap water. Just like algae can find it's way into a tank so can mildew find it's way into a Python. How often do you run water through your Python? What is the source of your water? Well or city? Where do you keep your Python stored? Many variables to consider. I guess the variables work in your favor where it doesn't for me and many others I have spoken to or have replied.:)
