QT tank

Had QT tank going for a week now but having trouble with amonia.Tank is only 20 gallons , there are 6 fish yellow tang ,lipstick tang ,coral beauty,bicoler angel,and 2 nemos. Would i be better of changing to my old 40 gallon or will the ams come down.

Was it cycled? If not you're going to need to do WCs daily. Not sure how big those tangs are but yes I'd use a bigger qt tank for all of them.

Thanks grins did water change from other tank and used that. How long will the bigger tank take to cycle with just water in. Trouble is no one is at home during the day, so got home today to find my ams around 1.0 and fish was not happy.

When I had to do a hospital tank in a rush (meaning not cycled) the first time I just did WCs every other day. Not fun but it worked.

would certainly agree with swapping to the bigger QT tank, thats a lot of boiload even for a cycled 20 in my opinion..
