4 weeks clean

I say 4 weeks from the end of any illness in that tank.

Now, this may teach you something about sharing Q tanks.

I prefer to keep all purchases separate. that meant that at one point I had 3 Q tanks, some were bare, some were planted, each had one species all bought at the same time.

I prefer the bare Q tank. After a couple of weeks with no problems, I may move those guys into a planted isolation tank, still separate, but I can treat if I have to. The isolatin tank has shrimp and snails in it, but only one type of fish, all bought at the same time. Though, I realize if you bought from a mega pet store with central filtration, then they may as well go in the same Q tank.
