question about betta's

I know every time that I ask them about something they always tell me wrong thats why I started using the forum, To find out what I need to know, So if any one said that Pet smart said these I going to tell them that they are wrong I would keep doing my research If i was you!!!!

Good people can be found at the LFS that do know their stuff. You just have to really hunt for them.

male and female = death o.o
if you want to keep females, you should start by getting three you like, around the same age (usually hard to tell though) and add them at the same time. that way, none can pre-establish territories.

Welcome to the wonderful world of fish! I have eight Betta's at work! If you want to make room for other fish in your tank, consider getting one of those little 2g betta tanks, they have some that have filters and everything with them, and they are not very expencive. That way you have more room in your other tank. Betta's are pretty smart, mine see me coming with food a mile away, if you feed them around the same time, they will look for you. Sometimes when you just get a new fish, or move them, they won't eat right away. make sure you get the drops for cholrine and keep your lid on, Betta's jump.

Well I am about to get a another 10g tank I think that I am going to leave her in the tank thats she in that way, she'll be fine, She has made a buddy in the tank. With one of the molly's

Yes bettas jump.

I just lost one at work. See other posts about this. C'est la vie.

24G tank, planted, some hiding places (broken vases, I went for a "greek" look). 1 male betta and 2 female bettas. Been in there for about 6 months, no incident, no problems. They see each other, they ignore each other. They even feed together during feeding time.

But then again, I might just have been lucky.

Not sure about putting females with males or female with another female. I have 2 male bettas in separate tanks. I feed them freeze dried blood worms and they love it. I also fast them once a week. It helps their digestive system and my bettas are doing very well.
