I have a 310 litres (82 US Gal, 68 UK Gal) aquarium where I’ve tried to create a South East Asian biotope. The fishes are: 3 pearl gouramis, 10 harlequin rasboras, 10 pentazona barbs, 2 siamese algea eaters and 6 sidthimunki botias.
I would also like to introduce a few peaceful bettas. I am considering either B. imbellis or B. smaragdina.
Anyone who has any personal experience of these two species? Which of them would you recommend? Which of these shows most personality? Which one is most peacefull? And which one is easiest to keep/breed?
The water current in the aquarium is not strong and I have created black water conditions. The pH is a bit high though. About pH 7.2. There are large stones, a large root and plants in the aquarium. Which one of the two species would thrive best in these conditions?
