Question about bio balls...

Auren

what exactly happens when you try to start a new thread?

i would use chem stars instead of bio balls. I take mine out once a year and rinse them. dont was them just a little rinsing. dont forget the bio balls bacteria will comsume nitirites but they will produce nitrates. thats why they call them nitrate factories. I used a wet dry on my salt for a while

stephenray75, are you suggesting that the bio-stars don't produce nitrates as they host nitrifying bacteria. Exactly how is that done? Nitrate is the end result (in our tanks, anyway) of oxidized ammonia and nitrites. You're not suggesting that biostars remove nitrate, are you?

New Thread

When I press the New thread button, nothing happens, when I search for my thread it doesnt appear. I wanted to post a new thread on outside community fish that has more fish besides kois and goldfish,

you should have a window identical to the reply window open up
try going to FAQ and see if it can help out
