Question about cycling/uncooked shrimp

Sorry to hear about your sump!!!

While the sump is out you might want to drill it for a bulkhead and mount the pump outside, then you could put a pad under it to quiet the vibrations!!

I lookd up Quiet One pump and they can be run externally!!
 
Thanks JOJO, I think it is actually the pump, cause we had used it to pump water from our rubber maid and it was still somewhat noisy(it was suspended in the water, not touching anything). I think we will just end up filling the cabinet with some type of sound barrier. Not sure! Live and learn right...Next tank we will get a proper pump.
 
QUIET ONE!!!!!

You may want to check the bearing shaft for wear, if that is it replace that and the impeller and you will be good to go!!
 
Hmmm, that would suck if it was a "wear" issue, it has only run for a total of a week with days in between...It's brand new...and it's the 9000 not 900 oops!
 
I would call the manufacturer and see what they say, might just be a bum pump!!
