Off to my lfs to return my guppies and buy 6 danios. Any concern they wont get along with the betta?

Or that he wont like them?

edit: zebra danios

I clicked your link pl*co and you need to read from the top side of the chart.

They are compatible with so many more fish. As long as its a fish that doesn't get stressed by activity the danio should be fine with it.

Alright thanks. I was concerned because the betta has made meals of neons in the past, and yesterday some guppies. Ill try to get the 6 of the larger danios and im sure he'll lay off.

I would not mix danios and a betta. Firstly, danios are incredibly active and often will stress out/annoy a even-tempered betta. Second, danios tend to have some enticing fins to bettas. Third, if this is for your 10g tank, you just plain don't have room.

Thanks for the heads up, il have to decide.

As far as not having room, im pretty sure I can accomadate at least 4. 6 is pushing it but I think it's possible.

The tank is kept very clean and there are tons of places to hide. The frog is rarely seen, as he hides in a plant. As does my shrimp. That leaves the betta and 3 cories.

Well, I was, but if you consider the caution on the Cory Cats compatible... now we're talkin' another 1/2 dozen fish, as they like to stay in a group and we don't know yet how big the tank is.

Danios won't work in a 10 gallon tank. they are VERY active and need the room to swim. I wouldn't even put them in a 20 gallon unless it was a 20 long.

Danios don't hide. they are constantly in the open. You'll be regretting getting them. IMO the 10 gallon has enough occupants.

I had 3 zebra danios in my 10 gallon with my male betta (and 4 c. habrosus and 3 rasbora espei and 2 otos). They all got along fine, the danios were very active but didn't bother any of the other fish. However, once I read they needed more room to swim I put them in my 37 gallon and they really went wild!! They seemed to really like the extra room.

Well I can't make you do it, but I'm telling you your tank is pretty much stocked. Everything produces waste, even the little things (like the frog). If you didn't have the other things, that amount of fish should be alright (that's completely ignoring the fact that danios simply use more room than a 10g)...but that isn't the situation. Your call.
