Question about DIY co2 Reactor with Pressurized co2

What is used to prevent water backflow through the co2 line when the co2 is off? If there is water flowing through the co2 reactor, is the pressure between the needle valve and the reactor enough to prevent any water backflow?

[FONT=&quot]I am going to be installing a check valve in the line, but it just doesn’t seem like it would be enough.

I just realized it might make sense to have my powerhead that will be driving this turn off when the co2and lights turn off. but i would like to have the powerhead/co2 reactor provide additional flow through the tank when it is off.

I use a brass check valve on my CO2 line, about 2 inches from my diy reactor. Here is where I got mine:

I leave my powerhead on my reactor running 24 hours a day. That's because I can't see when the CO2 inside it is finally all gone, I haven't had a problem running it this way.

A quality check valve will do the trick.

Go with a brass check valve-
the plastic ones aren't worth didly to begin with and the CO2 degrages the plastic. Its not worth the time to even add one. You really don't want water backing up into your Reg. To much can go wrong with a faulty plastic check valve. Get yourself a good brass check valve.
