question about filter media

I just got my new tank and im letting the water clear up by running my filter.

I have this poly fiber thats used in subwoofer boxes to help baffle sound and i dont think it has any chemicals on it so i was was wondering if it is okay to add to help polish my water.

i wouldn't. if you are not 100% certain what is in it then i would not use it.

why not go out and buy a bag of polyester quilt batting? super cheap and the bag will last forever! just cut it to what size you need.

i never buy stuff online. i'm one of those touchy feely before i buy people, lol.

craft stores or your good old walmart type place would have a bag of the polyester batting. i got mine from zellers for less than 10 bucks back in the summer and i think i might run out around easter time........

just make sure that the bag doesn't say anything about it being treated to resist mildew, mold, etc. you want the 100% poly and nothing else!
