I have a 29 gallon tank and will be getting a pair of convicts. I got the aquarium kit from walmart which comes with a aqua tech 20-40. But when I opened the box there was a free upgrade to a aqua tech 30-60 which is rated for up to 75 gallon tanks. I think it is about 300gph. I am planning on buying the parts to upgrade it to a penguin 330 which would give it two bio wheels.
Originally I was going to use a eheim canister filter along with the 20-40(rated for up to 30 gallons). But now that it has the larger filter will just the "penguin 330" be enough filtration for two convicts? Or should I still hook up the canister filter. I know people say there isnt a such thing as to much filtration but I don't want the gph to be too large. I am not too sure which model the eheim filter is but I think its 2211 which is about 120 gph.
So would ~ 420 gph be to much?
