I have 2 tanks, a 100 gal long. with Africa cichlids(peacocks, acei, brichardis) These fish are juveniles, ranging in size from1-2&1/2" in length. My other is a 110 gal tank with a variety of different cichlids; most are adults in there. My son-in-law had given me a couple of his fish when he and my daughter had moved out of state. I had put them in the 110 gal tank, they are a blue zebra(really nasty!), and a mild mannered frontosa. I have had them for about 2 yrs. now. I would like to move the frontosa, and was wondering how he would do with peacocks? I have heard that frontosas do best when they are in tanks with their own kind. Can they be placed with any other species? He is beautiful and I don't want to lose him.

The ideal situation is to house frontosas together but I had one in my mixed african tank for about 8 months and didn't have any problems. I was holding it for my LFS owner while he built a species setup for it, it was a 7 stripe.

I have vowed to myself to one day have a frontosa tank, at least a 125.

You and me both DeRo316
I have a small Frontossa and he is in my mixed african tank with no problems.
My LFS has 2 beautiful display tanks and 1 has 2 Frontossa's with Fuelborn, Acei, 2 rusty's, a few peacocks and a couple others I can't think of right now. All doing great.
My frontossa is very mild mannered until he is pushed too far, then size does not matter.
