My clown loaches and zebra loach all have ick, so I went out today and bought Ick medication for them. I got Maracide, made by Mardel. So I went ahead and treated the tank(2 capfuls per 10 gallons), and now the water is tinted blue. Is this normal? Will it stain my fake plants and fake driftwood?

It is normal and will stain some things. If you have silicon in the corners of your tank most likely they are blue.

These meds are best used with a hospital tank. Just a thought.

The only med I have used for ICH is QuickCure. IT's the best. If yours doesn't work go out and get some.

Hope it goes well.

After they are cured you can use some carbon in your filter to get rid of the color in your water, but some things will stain. If you soak the plants in bleach, some of them will come back, some won't and some may not be as dark as you remember.

If you use bleach to clean things. Be very carefull. They need rinsed thoroughly afterwards and set in dry conditions for a week or two. This helps to make sure all the bleach is gone. Or else your fish will die.

I don't know about the "set in dry conditions for a week or two" part. I rinse well two or three times, then add some dechlor. Let them soak and then rinse a couple of more times. Then I check for chorine. If it comes back zero, I put them back in. I haven't had any problems and everybody is doing well!
