question about live rock

i have had some live rock in our tank for around 3 weeks. How long should it take to see some life. thank you

Have you checked at night to see if anything is crawling around? There is a lot of life in the rock, but it doesn't mean you will always see it. You usually discover some life over time.

Live rock is a crap shoot for 'life'. It greatly depends on where it came from and if it was in a place 'crawling with life'. If you haven't seen a thing yet, you may not be seeing anything ever.

Is that supposed to be mocking what I said? The way I read it I did. Please correct me if so.

It you bought it from a "crappy place" and your tank conditions were not very good when you first put the rock in, then you will probably won't get as much out of it.
