Ok, so today I picked up some coral polyps and put them in the tank. How long should I expect to wait until they open up? I put them in about 2 hours ago, and they are still closed.

it depends on a few things, water parameters, shipping stress, even species and strain of polyps. it could open right away, or it would take a few days. so basically, you probably dont need to worry about it

Ok so my coral opened up all the way and was looking great. But now a few days later its not opening up really at all. Maybe a dozen polyps are open the rest are closed. How do I know if they are dead or just not in the mood to come out?

they can sometimes be picky. i probalby wouldnt worry about it too much if they are new in your tank, but i would still checkto make sure your parameters are okay and nothign is picking on/attached to them.
