I have been waiting for weeks for my apple snail to lay eggs. I have the water lowered by 5 inches. She keeps climbing out of the water. I just found a white slimy thing. Its in the same shape of a clutch but its clear with white dots in it. Could it be the clutch from another type of snail? I also have MTS (livebearers right?), ramshorn, and I believe pond snails (honey amber browish with black dots). The clutch is right above the water line. It's new. It was not there earlier today. I know that apple snail clutches are pink so what is this clutch from?
Thanks for any insight!

What you describe are pond snail eggsacks. Perhaps you lowered it after it was laid and only noticed it now?

yes I took out an extra inch today. Should I raise the water back up?

I know that apple snail clutches are pink
That does not apply to mystery snails. Here's the chart.

Pomacea diffusa-peach/white
Pomacea canaliculata-bright orange/pink
Pomacea insularum-pink (more distinguishable to canas by smaller eg diameter and larger clutch)
Pomacea haustrum-green
Pomacea paludosa-peach/white (larger than other eggs)

Hmmm. I'm going to try to get a picture of it. If they are pond snails its probably too late (I'm assuming) since its been lowered for about 5 hours. Off to get pics...

Sorry but thats the best pic I can get. It looks like its made up of lots of clear bubbles with a white dot in the center.

I just google Pomacea diffusa and they do look like my snails! I have a golden one and a brown one (the female). Do you think its possible that I do have a clutch?
